Mootly
Check out what we've been doing over at earth people:
http://moot.ly
Enjoy!
I made this super simple music player that basically plays a spotlight search result list. It's over at http://earthpeople.se/labs/2010/09/sing-a-simple-song/
It's beta and has some bugs, but hopefully you'll enjoy it. Since your music on your mac is already indexed by spotlight, you can actually search for anything you'd search for in itunes, and it just takes a second longer (which you'll gain back in app launch time :)
Take care, see ya!
It's pretty calm over here, as you can see.
Just wanted to say that Moody passed the 100.000 downloads mark a while ago. Fun! We felt like kiss and tell at the time, but now years later - here it goes:
"Awesome app - I'm addicted!"
Kevin Rose
"I like that it's simple and can really put a filter on your entire library."
Chris Bell, Director of Worldwide Marketing iTunes
Both the Screensaver and Moody is still being downloaded, so everything's good.
Mattias is very active at his recently started computer game related business, and I'm webbish at http://earthpeople.se, watch out for exciting projects coming up there. Got something good up our sleeves.
Best best
also - go here and get peel http://beem.se
I have changed the download link on the screensaver page to a new (beta) version. The old version does not work with iTunes 8 and also doesn't play all that nice with Vista, so there was really no use in holding back the new version anymore.
New features are:
* Works with iTunes 8.
* Works much better with Windows Vista.
* Possible to alter the font size in currently playing mode.
* Improved stability for slimserver.
* Possible to use alternate location for iTunes library.
* Double buffering can be enabled to get rid of flickering problems.
If you encounter problems, the forum is there to help you.
Enjoy!

Lots of new stuff. Be sure to watch the new screencasts. And then start twittering about your favorite tracks!
EDIT - April 27: This is now removed, since it will be included in the next version of Moody (which is finished and soon to be released!)
A possible future Moody feature would be a status bar thingy of some sort. Many have expressed wishes to use Moody in a more transparent way, without the extra window.
So, try this little fella out:www.moodyapp.com/files/MoodyShuffle.zip
That is a little status menu item that only does one thing only. It stays in the same mood as the last song.
If it's running it checks if the current song playing in iTunes has a Moody tag and if it does the Shuffler jumps to another song in the same mood at the end of the track. If you skip manually or double click another track it does nothing. It only works in the end of songs.
So with this function you can just play a song in iTunes and be in mood play directly.
It's pretty simple still. No app icon (except for the shuffle icon in the menu bar), and no deactivation - Edit: I put up a new version with a "turn on/off shuffle" menu choice, however no indication on the icon whether it's on or off. Think of it as a beta test of the function.
Enjoy!
I haven't seen this on any US site, but Swedish MacWorld says that 3rd party developers won't have access to the iTunes content on the iPhone. I don't know if they have confused iTunes with iPod, but they say it'll be impossible for last.fm or ilike to get information about music play out of the iPhone/iPod Touch.
If you know swedish, heres the link:

Edit: Here is something on this, from ipodNN:
http://www.ipodnn.com/articles/08/03/19 ... phone.sdk/
This doesn't make it impossible for Moody to exist on the platform, but maybe with a lesser experience.

Yeah, we're totally SDK!
What an awesome presentation, and what an awesome life we all gonna have from june on (first Euro08 soccer championship and then this).
(But wasn't it really lame when he started with talking about "we launched Web applications as a way to build web applications for the iPhone")
We're now quietly introducing the Moody Online Player.
It's still in developing, but usable. Try it out here:
www.crayonroom.com/moodyplayer
The player picks songs from the Moody Database, look for them at seeqpod.com and plays the urls that are found.
Pretty nice.
All three of us make or have made music in different ways. A few days ago I released a new album that's free to download at www.beem.se. It's mainly electronic music but I also made a cover of the lovely Television song Days. Here's a video.
The total number of downloads is now 56889. That's not at all taking-over-the-world-numbers but still great. Somewhere here and there people actually have had a better music listening experience because of this, and that makes us pretty happy (a dollar per download would not have been bad either though).
Here's to another 56889!
Now there's a new mac version of Moody out with tag download and upload.
We hope that this tag sharing thing is gonna be great. At the moment there aren't that many tags in the database but it surely will grow, so hopefully you'll be able to download tags that works for you soon.
So, welcome to the soc.. uh.. well.. Share on!
We are now working on a small and neat solution for up- and downloading tags to a database. Actually we're pretty much done, and you can expect a release for the mac users quite soon.
There's no login, no community, no go to a website, just a tiny little button with arrows. Click on it and you'll download and upload tags to and from the selected tracks. Hopefully a kind soul has uploaded the tags you miss and vice versa.
This will of course only work if you use a system for your tags that is reasonably close to the official happy-intense scales, but if you're very personalized you won't need it anyway.
How good this will actually work remains to be seen. If everybody has different opinions on how a track should be tagged it will be like straight shuffle. So while it still may not beat your own homegrown tags, hopefully it will be a good second option.
We have received a lot of emails lately regarding the Album Art Screensaver and Windows Vista. When running this combo, any changes made to the settings are ignored once the screensaver starts up.
Worst case is when you have a different image source than the default (iTunes), and want to specify something else. Since the settings aren't applied properly the screensaver will not find any artwork at all!
We will fix this problem as soon as we can, so keep an eye out within the next few weeks for a new version.
Peace
